With these easy-prep file folder centers, students will work in small groups to read and discuss concepts in an engaging way. Students will find colorful images, kid-friendly text, and hands-on activities with each file folder center!
Simply print out each folder's content, glue inside a file folder and provide the corresponding response activities related to each major battle and event topic. Students can rotate through each center and learn along the way!
Teacher Directions for assembling each folder is provided for easy set-up!
In each folder students will work in small groups to:
Learn the who, what, where, why, and why of each event
Explore a map of where the event took place
Use picture cards and prompts to discuss the event with their group
Complete an extension activity
Create a timeline of all events
Students will learn about the following events
Battles at Lexington and Concord
The Second Continental
Capture of Fort Ticonderoga
The Battle of Bunker Hill
The Declaration of Independence
Crossing the Delaware & Battle of Trenton
Battles of Saratoga
The Battle of Yorktown
Your students will love being able to move around the room, explore new information, and share their learning with each other. They will be practicing communication and collaboration skills as they engage in discussions about their discoveries of the American Revolution.
