  • Creating an atmosphere that is inviting for your writers is step one to getting started. When preparing your classroom your literacy blocks, consider things like where students will keep their reading and writing materials and where you will meet for small groups - plus a whole lot more!

  • Your mini-lesson topics at the beginning of the school year may not be what you think. Before you dive into critical literacy skills and strategies, we’ve gotta lay the groundwork - I’ll explain!

  • It’s time think through what you want your independent work period and closing times of the workshop to look like. I’ve got some things you’ll want to consider as well as some helpful tips and ideas for success!

  • Is it possible to fit in conferencing to an already packed reading and writing schedule? YES! But it takes some thoughtful planning and consideration. I’ll cover some of the most essential things that you’ll want to work through BEFORE getting started.
